- In the last year, there have been multiple opportunities to rekindle a particular ministry gift that seemed to be left dormant for several years.
- Since 2009, it has been quite an adjustment to come off the mission field and resettle into life in the United States.
- I believed my mission days were over and it was time to reengage with a corporate career and life in neighborhood America. Although this was partly true, the opportunity for mission ministry was simply on hold for a while, and God would have other plans.
- Since the worldwide pandemic we now have better technology to communicate over long distances to large groups of people.
- One of the schools that I had taught at in Bolivia reached out to me in early 2023 to see if I could come teach a class. Since that was not an option at the time, we found an alternative in the technology of Zoom. So over a weeks time, I was able to give daily classes with a class of 30 from the comfort of my office in Texas.
- Then in May, I finally reconnected with an old classmate to visit him in the country of Kenya.
- After my visit we have continued training through this media platform.
- I am hoping to continue to do the same with my former mission field of Bolivia. There is a great need for ministry leadership training in many parts of the world, and now we have ways to facilitate that training through the internet.
- In, March of 2024, I will actually be taking a one-week trip to Bolivia to help connect several leaders together in forming a training center to raise up the next generation of leaders. As I seek the Lord for provision in all these opportunities, my church here in Texas has provided a way to give online to these various ministries.
